Today as I was driving to town and listening to ABC Drive Show on the radio, the announcer asked us to ring in or text and say “what makes you calm”.
(Definitely for me, IT IS NOT phoning or texting while driving.)
But some said exercise – walking, running, dancing, pumping weights – for others it was music, breathing and ice-cream.
As I think about it, I am reminded of the ultimate calm that is mentioned in the Bible in Isaiah:
“You, Lord, will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
This also reminds me of a hymn my Dad would play and sing:
“Oh the peace my Saviour gives, peace I never knew before;
And my way has brighter grown since I learned to trust him more.”
Last Sunday, my Dad went to be with his Saviour and truly at peace.
My prayer for you is that you may experience the peace that Jesus gives. He said to his disciples:
“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.” (John 14:27)
Yes, amid the storms of stress and trouble, KEEP CALM and LOOK to Jesus, knowing that He has all things in hand.
